From a very young age Kia Luby knew she wanted to be involved
in the world of entertainment but perhaps it's fairer to say that Kia simply likes to be involved.
At school
Kia became involved in nearly everything that was on offer, representing the school in sporting activities (Swimming, Basketball,
Dance Aerobics, Athletics and Surfing) as well as in artistic endeavours (drama, singing and school musicals). In 2003 Kia
was awarded three separate awards by her school. Not only this but Kia speaks seven different languages and was once allocated
the daunting task of being hall monitor.
In 2000 at her very first audition for an acting role, Kia landed the part.
The role was for a new TV series revolving around the adventures of a group of young horse riders in the fictional never-never-land
of Pine Hollow. The show was of course The Saddle Club and Kia was to become Kristi, the girl who wanted
to be everyone's friend but ultimately sided with the obnoxious Veronica.
Five years later and with an inability
to walk down the street without being recognized, Kia was able to add many live performances in Australia and New Zealand,
participation on numerous CDs including two ARIA nominations and, of course, 52 episodes of a popular television show to her
resume. Despite her role on The Saddle Club not being one of the leads, Kia's natural ability with people
and happy outgoingness resulted in her becoming one of the favourites for many of the fans.
Kia has also appeared on
the popular Australian police drama T.V. series Blue Heelers and has guested on many magazine/variety
T.V. shows. A keen amateur photographer, Kia has had her work in this area published in magazines and in a book associated
with The Saddle Club T.V. series, "Saddle Club Days".
Kia's ambitions continue to
lie within the sphere of popular entertainment. As well as singing, she plans to continue with acting and would like at some
stage to become the host for a TV show.
One thing is for sure - Kia Luby's star is well and truly on the rise.
Oh,
by the way … we were joking about the seven languages. The bit about being a hall monitor was true though.

Favourite Style of Music: I enjoy listening to a mixture of rock, hip hop,
punk and dance music.
